Sources, editions and reuse
This library distinguishes original source text, script conversion, translations and editorial study aids. Check each reader’s source notes before quoting or reusing a passage.
Editorial principles
- Preserve source references, variants and edition notes.
- Identify generated Devanāgarī conversions and unreviewed transcriptions.
- Attribute translations separately from original Sanskrit.
- Apply each source’s licence independently of the website design.
A digital transcription is not automatically a critical edition. Purāṇa conversions await scholarly proofreading; the original electronic source remains available alongside the reader.
